From crime to conservation, recycling to road safety, and schools to social services, there must be something you feel strongly about – and we want to know. Bromley is your borough and we want you to be involved in shaping its future.

We’re living in challenging economic times and your views have never been more important to us. We’ve been looking carefully at what we do, but want to know what you think is working, what we do less well, and how we can improve council services and our service to you.

So come along to our public meeting on Wednesday, 21 January 2009 from 7pm at the Civic Centre and:

find out how we’ve responded to your ideas so far hear about our plans for the future and tell your councillors what more – big or small – we can sensibly do to improve things for your local community.

There is no need to book, just turn up. Questions, comments or suggestions can be submitted up to 24 hours in advance on leader@bromley.gov.uk, 020 8461 7077, or put forward on the night.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Stephen Carr, said: “Over the past few years we have been asking you to tell us what is important to you, and what you would like to see done to improve the borough.

We have acted on your feedback, and brought about a number of improvements, but have we made a difference? We know from our research and consultation that community safety matters, maintaining a quality environment and more for young people to do have been the top issues in recent years, but is this still the case in the current economic climate? Continuing to listen to you is vital to ensuring that your priorities remain our priorities as we plan ahead to meet local needs, and that we remain able to provide the high levels of customer service that you expect and deserve.

So please come along with your friends and neighbours and tell us what you think. It’s your borough; help shape it for the future. We’ll listen and then let you know in the spring how we plan to incorporate your thoughts into real improvements that will help Build a Better Bromley for us all.”
