COUNCILLORS would like to know what residents think about local government.

A council committee are carrying out a review of how Bromley Council communicate with the public through the media, leaflets, public consultation meetings and advertising.

Councillor Nicholas Bennett, Chairman of the Working Group, said: “We are asking fundamental questions about how, what, and why the council communicates. In particular: “Are we providing the information our residents, businesses and visitors require?

“Are the communications in clear and concise language?

“Is the way the Council communicates cost effective?

“Do we make best use of modern technology?

“How can we improve what we do?”

The councillors, who form the communications working group of the executive and resources policy, development and scrutiny committee will be reporting in September.

Any comments should be sent by July 2 to Sheila Bennett, Room P34, Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1 3UH or email sheila.bennett@bromley.gov.uk
